“I saw that to be a change maker, you need heart and empathy. I saw a vision that I was able to carry out with my community and along the way, I got a great support system and created lasting partnerships with people who share the same vision.”
“I learned that I had the personal strength and fortitude to deal with big problems, all on my own. And conversely: I also learned that it was not a sign of my weakness or lack of integrity to reach out to others when hit with big problems.”
“The fellowship provided the space I needed to do some important self-work. The fellowship team emphasized that a crucial dimension of the fellowship year was working on the self and examining one’s interior world, vision, and needs in order to thrive and to help the initiative thrive in tandem.”
“This experience has fundamentally changed me as a leader and strengthened my capacity as a change maker…”
“This past year has been one of massive growth and learning, both personally and professionally … I am ending this fellowship in the best and most positive frame of mind I have been in for a long time, and more committed than ever to continue my work in sexual and reproductive health.”
“The fellowship has given me the time, space, resources, and guidance for a huge personal and professional learning experience. This includes progress in my life goals as well as my ability to conceptualize and articulate them.”
“The fellowship gives you a rare combination; The autonomy to self-direct your proposed project, while also providing a wide range of tools, supports and expertise for success.”
