COHORT CANCELLATION

After extensive discussions, the 2020-21 Cohort of the Pathy Fellowship was cancelled in June 2020.

Adam Baden-Clay, Pathy Fellowship program coordinator and manager of Coady Institute youth leadership programs, said the unprecedented and difficult decision was made after reflecting on the COVID-19 pandemic and the global, national, and provincial context in which the program takes place.

“We are terribly saddened that this decision was necessitated by current events,” Baden-Clay said. “COVID-19 has completely changed the world in which we live. The well-being of Fellows and their community partners around the world remains at the forefront of our minds. At the same time, we are ensuring the continued high standards of Fellows and initiatives that are a distinguishing mark of this program.”

Ongoing support was provided throughout the pandemic for those accepted into the cancelled 2020-21 Cohort. Fellows met through periodic online workshops and check-ins, to continue their learning ahead of joining the 2021-22 Cohort.

Fellows from the cancelled Cohort joined the 2021-22 program, alongside nine newly selected Fellows, making our largest Cohort to date.

“We are thrilled to work with all Fellows in the 2021-22 Cohort to implement their projects through unprecedented times.” Baden-Clay said.

Further updates on the Pathy Fellowship program will be provided on the program’s social media pages.
